Subject: Thank You

My name is Ken Barrett and i subscribe to the GOE site.I was lucky enough to be there on March,17,2007,rode a bus along with about 50 others from Maine.

I just read the last installment and what you wrote about what you all are doing.I just wanted to say THANK YOU! for supporting our troops ,our veterans and this great country.

I'm a 2 tour U.S.Navy veteran of Vietnam and I can say if only we had this kind of support ,visable support back then, many lives would have been different.

Keep up the great work, stand tall and be proud, you are all in the words of Sean Hannity,"great Americans."

God bless and watch over you all.

Below are emails sent to Merrilee Carlson, Chair, Families United for Our Troops and Their Mission, after reporting on The Band of Mothers 5 day vigil in Washington DC Dec. 10-14th, 2007 asking for funding for our soldiers.

I enlisted in the US Navy in Chicago in 1943 at age 17.  Served in the Pacific and missed the sinking of the USS Indianapolis by two days after we delivered the atomic bombs that were dropped on Japan ending the war.  You can't say the good Lord wasn't with me then  and he still is.  Great what
you are doing, wish a lot more folks wou8ld be that up and at them.

hurrah to bev perlson! send her our regards!

Truely a wonderful tribute. I didn't know about this or I would have been there...it is so important to keep up to date on what is going on in our country today. A travesty in justice to our troops by our own Congress. Code Pink is a front and so ignorant. I sometimes feel sorry for these people who can't seem to get a grip on reality.  But they choose how they want to live and what they want to believe. The weak in mind, spirit and will choose the way of the "Pink". I thank you for being our voice behind the lines of Feedom. My sons are Marines..and I could not be more proud. Thank you for being our touch stone to sanity in this insane Congress that overwhelms us with its shocking behavior towards our Troops and citizens.

Bless you, Bev, and your brave son, and all the others who are helping to push back against terrorism.

THREE CHEERS FOR YOU!!!  KEEP UP THE PRESSURE!!!

CONGRATULATIONS FOR HAVING A BRAVE SON WHO SELFLESSLY SERVES HIS COUNTRY AND US WHO LIVE HERE.

YOUNG MEN LIKE YOUR SON MAKE ME PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN.

ALTHOUGH YOU WILL BE MILES APPART, I TRUST YOU AND YOUR SON WILL BOTH ENJOY A BLESSED CHRISTMAS.

Alaire S

Dear Merrilee,

What a wonderful read!  Wish I had been there to see it.  I sure am grateful to all of those who participated.

Are there no Democrat soldiers over there?  You'd think not, since they want to starve them and stab them in the back, and give comfort to the enemy.

We have some very unpatriotic leaders in Congress.  Don't know how they sleep nights, enjoying all their comforts while our brave underpaid soldiers risk life and limb for them.

Thank goodness I got a fax machine.  I fax senators and congressmen on a weekly basis.  Hope some of them read them.

All best wishes to you all.  Have been pretty sick   Think I'll just say "Don't you even think of having a Merry Christmas until you fully fund our troops protecting you!!"

THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO!!!!!!!!!

Thank you soooo much for this newsletter... this is one great brave mom God Bless her and her heroic son BRAVELY serving his nation!

Last night I watched Justice Clarence Thomas being interviewed on tv . He is one smart American. What he said made so much logic. He would make a GREAT President!

God Bless all Americans serving this great nation, who seem to have to fight not only a battle 'on the field'  but also some unpatriotic fellow-country-men/women.

Wishing everyone at this site a very happy Christmas Season and Blessings for 2008.

GO BEV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ms. Carlson, Thank you for providing this newsletter and forum for all American Citizens to express their views. Your recent story on Bev Perlson touched me tremendously. I have just e-mailed both of my State Senators concerning their positions on the funding of our troops (or lack thereof) and the issue of granting immunity to US corporations which cooperate with our US Intelligence Agencies. It is shameful that the majority of our government officials who have been elected by US Citizens are acting like traitors to our own country. God bless you and all of the family members of our brave military personnel. You should all stand proud, and if my own 11 year old son should someday opt to serve our country, I will applaud his decision. I know that sleepless nights and persistent anxiety are your constant companions. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I pray for the safe return of all our brave men and women serving our great country.

Regina S
