Call to ACTION!

2008 Operation Recruiter Appreciation underway!

May 17, 2008

Our recruiters are our “First Line of Defense” and need to be recognized for their efforts.  In the past year, our recruiters have been under attack by insurgents right here at home!  As Americans we need to show them that we know they are important and we appreciate them.

To get involved, click here for more information.

Recap of CPAC

CPAC 2008

Attending the 2008 CPAC was my excellent opportunity to collect more Post Cards of Support for our brave men and women of the United States Military.  It is heartwarming to find so many Patriots in one location, who appreciate and sincerely revere our Soldiers and their service!

The Crazies Never Sleep

The Berkeley California council on Tuesday passed two resolutions condemning the Marines as part of a campaign by anti-war activists to shut down the recruiting center. The council also gave Code Pink, a leftist group that daily harasses the Marines with hate speech, a free parking place and noise permit.

Toora Loora Looral  (That's an Irish Lullaby)
Sung by Bing Crosby in Going My Way
Sequenced by Barry Taylor

Lyrics to Toora Loora Loora:

Over in Killarney
Many years ago,
Me Mither sang a song to me
In tones so sweet and low. Just a simple little ditty,
In her good ould Irish way,
And l'd give the world if she could sing
That song to me this day.

Chorus:
"Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby.".

Oft in dreams I wander
To that cot again,
I feel her arms a-huggin' me
As when she held me then.
And I hear her voice a -hummin'
To me as in days of yore,
When she used to rock me fast asleep
Outside the cabin door.

Chorus:
"Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby."

The Band of Mothers are the mothers of The Noble and Heroic Soldiers of the United States Military. We are dedicated in our mission to Step Up, Stand Up and Stick Up For Our Soldiers.

Goals:  To Proudly Seek, Garner and Nurture Support for our Soldiers

As I watched Cindy Sheehan and her misguided bunch in Crawford, Texas, she ignited in this mother my “protective instincts.”   I raised three children myself and well, let’s just say “nobody ever messed with my kids!”  I do not believe there is a force in this world stronger than a mother’s instinct to protect her children.  I have watched these protestors and worry so very much about how their disrespectful behavior affects our noble Soldier’s morale.  I decided that we cannot afford nor allow their voice to be the only voice heard!  Never a mother who could sit idly by, an idea formulated in my heart and in my mind that our brave men and women need “The Band of Mothers” to watch over them, and more importantly, to  “Stick Up For Them!”

If You would like to become a member of the Band of Mothers, simply go to the Ranger UP website and purchase a T-shirt and wear it often and everywhere!  All proceeds after cost go to The Wounded Warrior Project and  The Gathering of Eagles Organization - which protects our soldiers from the growing insurgency at home. We will know each other, and so will others, by our T-Shirts!

The Very Proud Mother of a United States Soldier 82nd Airborne,
The Very Proud Sister of a United States Marine - Vietnam,
The Very Proud Daughter of a WWII Veteran.

Chandler's Watch Radio Show on  www.sandiego1700.com

On the evening of May 2, 2008, at Louie's Chop House on the south side of Chicago, I had the honor of dining with the Producer and Crew of the infamous radio show "Chandler's Watch" on www.sandiego1700.com.  The last time I had such a memorable and entertaining evening I had visited my Hero Son and his Hero Brothers at Ft. Bragg!  From left to right, yours truly with Leo McSweeney (Co-Host on SanDiego1700), Tommy Chandler (Host) and John "Howie" Howell (Producer).  These Pro-Victory Marines actively support their Brothers and ACTIVELY antagonize Suzi and Code Pink every chance they get!!!  Checkout their radio show on Saturday nights at 5pm pacific time.  They are huge supporters of our troops and just the Best Company you can be in!  Thanks with all my heart for all you fellows are doing for our brave men and women.  You are The BEST!

MRS. JACKY’s SOLDIERS

A small group of volunteers in Oak Lawn, IL meet almost every week to pack and mail boxes to soldiers from the south side area or that have relatives in the same area. These soldiers in turn pass the material to their units and several units around them, continuously spreading out the good will from the community back home. It all started in March 2003 when a student’s parent from Mrs. Jacky’s early education classes at the Oak Lawn Park District was sent to Iraq. Items were collected and sent out weekly in small boxes. The soldiers’ names kept growing and so did the collections. Soon this group became known as “Mrs. Jacky’s Soldiers.”

The soldiers who have returned all say the same thing in their thanks to this group, “It was not what you sent, but that you sent all the time to show us that someone back home cares about us.”  Their families also expressed their gratefulness that their soldier’s morale was being positively lifted with each box sent. Stamps, letters and items are accepted at Oak View Center at 4625 W 110th Street in Oak Lawn, IL 60453. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Jacky at 708-857-2200. Thank you for your positive thoughts for the soldiers! Mrs. Jacky: )
